I made this silverware box for my cousin who drove me to my guitar lesson on a very rainy day when I was 9 years old. That was 42 years ago.  He was on Navy leave visiting our family at the time.

The lid is Pomelle Sapelle (darker wood) with a border of birds eye maple which is the lighter colored wood.  The bottom is quarter sawn sycamore. The silverware inset was purchased from Rockler.  The lid has ten coats of finished which is hand rubbed. The rub out took about 4 hours to complete.  The bottom has five coats of finish and is hand rubbed.
