Blizzard of 2006
Colorado Springs

Thursday October 26 - 8 a.m. MST

The bird bath

It started snowing about 3:30 a.m. and these pictures were taken at 8 a.m.  The highway in front our home is 4 lane and as you can see in one picture, it's one land and the snow blow is in view.  We are making some homemade soup and recording music for today while we look outside of at the blizzard.  Enjoy the pictures...  The winds are howling and the animals and Jill humble in the warm home.  This reminds me much of my 7 years in New England.  I'm off from work until Sunday and the timing for this storm was perfect.  It makes for a great day of recording music.  We are expecting 18-28 inches of snow by the end of the day.

My setting for today, recording Christmas CD for my friends & family

Deep snow, 18-28 inches expected by this
evening.  These photos were taken at 10 a.m.
MST. I-25 has been closed, the major freeway
from Colorado Springs to Denver.  I-70 has
now been closed also. As you can see in the
picture at right, the four-lane highway in front
of my place cannot even be seen now from the
heavy blizzard conditions.  Have a nice day!
