PICNIC -
Saturday, August 2, 11am - 3pm
If you have already gone to the places that
the tours will take you, OR if you would rather
be with old friends in a relaxed setting, plan
on coming to a Picnic!
WHAT - Picnic, time to chat and play games
WHEN - 11 AM to 3 PM on Saturday, Aug 2nd
WHERE - A Park in Colorado Springs
COST - $5 per person, $20 max per family
WHAT TO BRING - Everyone bring a side dish or
dessert (homemade or purchased) if at all
possible; and Locals, please also bring lawn
chairs - bring extras to share.
You can sign up and pay for this activity using
the worksheet on the website. The fee for this
event covers the rental of pavilions with picnic
tables, burgers and hot dogs, drinks and paper
goods. To enhance our menu, please bring a side
dish or dessert to share - homemade or
purchased.
There will not be a bus for transportation.
Carpool information and a map will be provided
at the registration on Friday, August 1st.

- April 29, 2008
Beth Riley, Class of 2002 KHS, is
bringing the Halau Pulama Mau Ke Aloha Ka "Ohana "Ilima
of Colorado (Magic of the Pacific Island Dancers) to
our lu'au on Monday night, August 4th. They
will be performing Hawaiian, Samoan, and Tahitian

Reunion Update
- April 21, 2008
The 2008 Reunion planning
meeting and potluck was held at Bruce and Sherry
Sherrill's home in Colorado Springs, Saturday, April
19th. The meeting was fun and very will
planned by Sherry Sherrill. Planning and tasks
were assigned to local Kwajers excited to help at
the reunion. More news to follow about the
reunion planning in the near future. Pictures
were taken at the meeting and can be viewed by

reservations made, Kwaj group price breaks for the
hotel rooms ends May 31st. The Senior Golf
Open is planned during the same time period as our
reunion and the Colorado Springs area expects
approximately 80,000 in attendance for the
tournament. Don't wait on making your
reservations if you are planning to come.

Form & Fees Required for Reservations
We are
required to have the funds in advance for the Sunday
Breakfast/Tour at the Garden Gods, the Pikes Peak
Cog Railway and Royal Gorge tours. If you are
planning to attend these tours, we need the funds
for these activities before May 31st. Please
complete the registration form and select the tour(s)
you plan to take and mail a check or money order to
Sherry Sherrill, see the

selecting your choices, see
Itinerary for details. If you plan to
attend other activities listed on the Registration
Form and want to pay a little later for these,
select those tours and activities. Mail your

The tours are a sampler
of what Southern Colorado has to offer. Please
feel free to send as many registration forms as you
wish. We are thinking that you may wish to add to
your selections after talking with others. Please
don't duplicate your selections on subsequent forms, as
that could get really confusing!
We will have tickets for all of your chosen events that
will be given to you when you register. The final
reservations have to be in & paid for about a month
prior to the reunion. Therefore, I must have your
forms & checks by June 15th in order to get all the
arrangements finalized before the deadlines.

came to Kwaj in Aug. 1976. Bruce was part of the STP
program. He was a Hardware Eng. with the original Control
Data. Corp. His next roll was in software for PRC Kentron
from Dec. '80 - April of '87. In April of '87, Bruce went
to work for GTE on Roi-Namur. While on Kwaj, Bruce was
very active with his boy's activities as coach & head rooter.
He also coached girl's soccer from 95 - 98. In 98 Bruce
left for the mainland. Sherry was very active in the Yokwe
Yuk Women's Club & Kwajalein Community Theater. She
managed the Yokwe Yuk Club from the late '80's until her
departure in 94. |
