Our Wedding Day, June 1, 2007

Dear All...

Just a short note to let you all know that I got married on June 1st... I reminded Sherm that it was our 2 year anniversary and he asked me what I wanted to do? I said the court house would be nice... Just joking of course... I have always joked the last 2 years, I really didn't think he would ever remarry, he was married for 19 years and has been divorced for 10.

We cleaned the house, showered and got ready and I asked what he wanted to do? He said "Well, I guess we will go to the court house". Now, I will add that we did buy rings last year on our cruise... I put my arms around him and started crying, "OH MY!" Then I PULLED OUT THE RINGS, CALLED A MINISTER (William J. Cole, Pastor of Circles of Love Bible Church, www.colbe.net, bill@colbc.net - email) IN THE PHONE BOOK UNDER WEDDINGS, AND WE WERE OFF TO THE COURT HOUSE... We got our marriage license about 1:30 PM. I called the minister back and asked him to meet us at the Garden of the Gods at 3:15 PM. We were married at 3:30 PM in front of a bunch of tourists that gathered around, all clapping and taking pictures when we were done... We called our parents afterwards and no one believed us.

Who'd ever think I'd marry again. I didn't. In the ten years of single life, I dated but really didn't meet a person that was as conservative, heart-warming and respectful as Jill.

Jill can be ready to go with me on a task anytime of the day without having to worry about getting the hair ready, etc. She just throws on a ball hat and off we go, my kind of gal.

Our wedding day, June 1st, 2007 was a happy surprise to both of us, for we decided that day, getting a marriage license and marrying 3 hours later in our work clothes. It was simple and sweet, just the way we liked it.

It's so nice to come home from work knowing Jill and our pets are waiting for me with joy and happiness. I love that fact that I now have a family that loves, respects and appreciates me.

My first date with Jill was on June 1, 2005, we had dinner together followed by a walk at the Garden of the Gods. Two years later, June 1, 2007, we married at the Garden of the Gods.
