This was a way to see the cemetery and learn about
the history.  The guides and service was great too.

Amphitheater next to the Tomb of the Unknowns

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was the highly of our trip.  The Arlington Cemeterys
the best known of more than one hundred national cemeteries in the United States.  About 24
burials are conducted every weekday.

Just east of the amphitheater, visitors attend the timeless rituals of the honor at the Tomb of
the Unknowns.  Here a sentinel of the Third U.S. Infantry maintains the vigil around the clock.
The sentinel paces 21 steps down the mat before the tomb, pauses 21 seconds, and returns.
The changing of the guard takes place every hour (or half-hour from April through September).

"Here rests in honored glory an American soldier known but to God"
